Heðrek
Heðrek is a Viking Age chieftain or king referred to in several Old Norse texts, including the Völsunga saga. Additionally, Heðrek is featured in the epic poem Hervarar saga and the skaldic poem Þorsteins st\xf8fur. Mention of Heðrek can be found in the Beowulf manuscript, where he is referred to as Heorde or Heardred, the son of King Hrethel of the Geats. In the Hervarar saga, Heðrek is portrayed as the son of King Hroar and the husband of Heiðr. The Völsunga saga mentions a Heðrek who is the father of the Volsungar clan and the husband of Sörli.
