Hermetismi

Hermetismi is a religious, philosophical, and esoteric tradition based primarily upon writings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. These writings are a fusion of Egyptian and Greek traditions, emerging from the Hellenistic period. The core of Hermetic philosophy is often summarized in the principle "As above, so below," signifying a correspondence between the macrocosm (the universe) and the microcosm (humanity).

Central to Hermetic thought is the concept of gnosis, a divine knowledge or enlightenment that allows individuals to understand the true nature of reality and their place within it. Hermetic texts explore themes of cosmology, alchemy, astrology, theurgy (divine magic), and the human soul's journey. The figure of Hermes Trismegistus himself is seen as a revealer of divine wisdom, bridging the gap between the human and the divine.
