Hemimetaboolsus is not a recognized taxonomic term in entomology and appears to be a nonstandard coinage or misspelling related to hemimetaboly, the form of insect development known as incomplete metamorphosis. The standard terminology used by scientists is hemimetabolous development or hemimetaboly.

In hemimetabolous development, insects progress through three life stages: egg, nymph, and adult. Nymphs resemble smaller versions of the adults in body plan and habits, but typically lack fully developed wings and reproductive organs. The distinction hinges on the presence or absence of a pupal stage and the degree of morphological change between immature and adult forms.
