Helikindlust is a term that appears in some Estonian-language discussions as a proposed or hypothetical form of personal risk protection. It is not a widely standardized policy in major insurance markets, and there is no single official definition. In discussions, helikindlust is usually described as a comprehensive product that blends elements of health insurance, life insurance, and income protection to shield individuals from a range of shocks.

Conceptually, helikindlust would aim to provide coverage in events such as serious illness or injury, long-term disability, and premature death, while also offering income replacement during periods when working capacity is impaired. Proposals often envisage a single premium, with riders or options that can tailor the coverage to age, health status, and lifestyle. Some versions emphasize portability across jobs or regions and automatic inflation protection to maintain real value over time.

Supporters argue that a unified product could simplify protection, reduce administrative complexity, and improve access to coverage for individuals who currently hold multiple separate policies. Critics counter that the concept risks becoming overly complex or costly, may obscure the true value and limits of coverage, and could face regulatory and solvency challenges without clear standards.

In practice, helikindlust has not coalesced into a recognized, regulated product in major markets. Its discussion remains largely within policy debates and consumer-advocacy contexts, serving as a reference point for considerations about how best to combine health, life, and income protections.
