Helikaalit
Helikaalit refers to objects or concepts that have a helical or spiral form. In Finnish, the term is used across science, engineering, and design to describe structures that follow a helix, a three-dimensional curve generated by a point moving along a circle while advancing along the axis.
In science, helikaalit describe helically shaped molecules and assemblies. Proteins with alpha-helix segments and other biopolymers
In engineering, architecture, and design, helikaalit appear as spiral ramps, helical gears, screw threads, and sculpture
Etymology and usage: Helikaali is formed from helix plus a Finnish plural/collective suffix; it remains a specialized
