Handicapem

Handicapem is a term historically used to describe a disadvantage faced by an individual due to a physical, mental, cognitive, or sensory impairment. This disadvantage can manifest in various aspects of life, including social interaction, education, employment, and access to services and public spaces. The concept of handicapem has evolved significantly, moving away from a purely medical model that focuses on the impairment itself towards a social model that emphasizes the societal barriers preventing full participation.
