Hakusija

Hakusija is a Japanese term that refers to a type of grassroots, informal community-based movement that emerged in the late 20th century. The name "hakusija" is a combination of the Japanese words for "white" and "castle", and it roughly translates to "white castle" or "castle of the people".

The hakusija movement is characterized by the development of community-led initiatives and centers that provide a range of services, including food, housing, healthcare, and education, to marginalized and disadvantaged individuals and families. However, unlike traditional welfare systems, hakusija initiatives are typically organized and managed by local communities themselves, rather than by government or corporate organizations.
