Eero Lauri Hakulinen, commonly known as Eero Hakulinen, was a Finnish cross-country skier and biathlete who is widely regarded as one of the greatest winter sports athletes of all time. Born on October 31, 1935, in Kuusankoski (now part of Kotka), Finland, Hakulinen dominated the sport during the 1950s and early 1960s, earning the nickname "The Flying Finn" for his speed and agility on the snow.
