Gleichstromlader, also known as DC chargers or direct current chargers, are devices used to replenish the battery of electric vehicles. Unlike alternating current (AC) chargers, which provide power to the vehicle's onboard charger to convert it to direct current, Gleichstromlader bypass the onboard charger entirely. They convert the high-voltage AC power from the grid to DC power externally and deliver it directly to the vehicle's battery. This direct DC charging process is significantly faster than AC charging.
