Gensokyo
Gensokyo is a fictional, isolated land that serves as the primary setting for the Touhou Project series of Japanese doujin games, developed by ZUN. It is a place where youkai, spirits, gods, and humans coexist, though the human population is relatively small and lives in villages, often protected by powerful beings. The boundary between Gensokyo and the outside world is sealed by the Great Hakurei Barrier, maintained by the Hakurei Shrine Miko, Reimu Hakurei. This barrier prevents most humans from entering or leaving Gensokyo without permission and also keeps the youkai within its borders.
