Förderorientierte is a German adjective formed from fördern (to promote, subsidize) and orientiert (oriented). It describes actions, policies, programs or approaches that are directed toward funding, support or subsidy measures. The term signals that financing criteria, grant programs or promotional incentives guide planning, implementation and assessment, rather than relying solely on needs-based or outcome-neutral considerations.

Examples include förderorientierte Wirtschaftsförderung, which focuses on promoting economic development through subsidies, grants and incentives; and förderorientierte Bildungspolitik, which channels resources through targeted funding schemes. In social policy contexts, förderorientierte Ansätze may prioritize funding for specific groups or services to achieve particular social outcomes.

In practice, förderorientierte design emphasizes the alignment of activities with available financing instruments and policy objectives. This can help target scarce resources to strategic priorities, but may also raise concerns about distortions in incentives or dependency on subsidies if not carefully balanced with performance criteria and sunset provisions.
