Fugleatlas

Fugleatlas is the Danish term for a bird atlas, a systematic, long‑term project that maps the distribution and abundance of bird species within a defined area—typically a country or region—and often with a focus on breeding birds. Atlas projects compile standardized observations, published records, and other data sources to create a geographic snapshot of avifauna.

Data are mapped in a grid, producing distribution maps that show presence or absence, breeding status (possible, probable, confirmed), and, when data allow, relative abundance. Species accounts summarize habitat preferences, migratory patterns, and population trends.
