Forsendisfrumu is a term used in speculative neuroscience and science fiction to describe a hypothetical neuron-like cell specialized for forward signaling in sensory pathways. Unlike established neuron types, its existence is not supported by robust empirical evidence, and the term is rarely used in mainstream neuroscience.

Proposed characteristics include a predominantly feedforward projection pattern from primary sensory regions toward higher processing areas, with a dendritic architecture oriented to receive input from the periphery and a comparatively reduced density of long-range feedback connections. Morphologically, some proposals imagine elongated axons and distinct molecular markers that would distinguish it from known neurons, though no consensus exists.

Proponents of the concept speculate that forsendisfrumu would support rapid forward transmission of sensory information and may play a role in predictive coding, attention, or temporal binding. The idea is often used to illustrate how forward and backward information streams might be specialized in the cortex, or in sci-fi contexts to explain fast perception.

The term is not part of established anatomical nomenclature. In neuroscience research, proposed neuron classes are evaluated through electrophysiology, imaging, and connectomics; as of now, there is no verified identification of a cell matching the forsendisfrumu profile.

Future work would require clear morphological criteria, in vivo recordings, and cross-species comparisons to determine whether such a cell exists and what function it could serve.
