Forrasztandó

Forrasztandó, also known as *forrásztandó* or *forrásztandó fa*, refers to a traditional Hungarian method of creating a natural, semi-wild forest ecosystem through selective planting and management. The term originates from the Hungarian verb *forrásztani*, meaning "to plant" or "to establish," and is specifically applied to reforestation techniques that mimic natural forest regeneration processes.

The practice involves planting native tree species in a way that encourages biodiversity and ecological balance. Unlike conventional monoculture plantations, forrasztandó emphasizes the use of multiple species, including both fast-growing and slow-growing trees, to create a more resilient and ecologically diverse forest. This method is often employed in degraded or deforested areas to restore soil health, prevent erosion, and support local wildlife.
