Forechecking
Forechecking is a defensive hockey tactic in which forwards apply pressure to the puck carrier and supporting players in the opposing team’s zone or immediately after a turnover, with the aim of regaining possession and disrupting the opponent’s breakout. By challenging the puck and limiting time and space, forechecking can force mistakes, shorten the opponent’s possession, and create scoring chances in transition.
