Flettefasen

Flettefasen, literally the “braiding phase,” is a term used in Norwegian to denote a stage in a process during which elements are interwoven or braided. The word combines flette (to braid or interweave) with fase (phase). The concept appears in several disciplines, but it does not have a single standardized definition across all fields; its meaning varies with context.

In textiles and hairdressing, flettefasen describes the portion of a workflow where strands are arranged into a braid or other interlaced structure and secured for further processing or styling.

In engineering and manufacturing, the term appears in descriptions of processes that involve braided structures, such as the production of braided cables, hoses, or reinforcement fibers for composites. Here, flettefasen refers to the stage where individual strands are laid into a braid configuration before impregnation, curing, or final assembly.

The concept emphasizes interweaving, interlacing, and structural integration, as opposed to laying out components in parallel or layering them without interweaving.
