Fleckvieh is a cattle breed in Central Europe, closely associated with the Simmental region of Switzerland. The name Fleckvieh, German for “spotted cattle,” reflects its often dappled coloring. In many markets the same animals are marketed as Simmental. Fleckvieh is a dual-purpose breed selected for both milk and beef production.
