Felületszerelt

Felületszerelt is a Hungarian term that translates to "surface-mounted" or "surface-mount" in English, commonly used in the context of electronics manufacturing and design. It refers to electronic components that are designed to be attached directly to the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB) rather than being inserted through holes in the board.

Surface-mount technology (SMT) offers several advantages over the older through-hole technology. Components designed for SMT are typically smaller and lighter, allowing for more compact and denser electronic devices. This miniaturization is crucial for modern gadgets like smartphones, tablets, and wearable technology. Furthermore, SMT components are easier and faster to place on a PCB using automated assembly machines, which significantly reduces manufacturing costs and increases production throughput. The electrical connections in SMT are generally made through solder pads on the component that align with corresponding pads on the PCB.

The development of SMT has revolutionized the electronics industry, enabling the creation of smaller, more powerful, and more affordable electronic products. While through-hole components are still used for certain applications, particularly those requiring high mechanical strength or dealing with high currents and voltages, the vast majority of modern electronic devices rely heavily on felületszerelt components and SMT.
