Faemas

Faemas is a coastal city-state and the capital of the Faemaran Confederation, located on the eastern shore of the Brine Sea. It functions as a political, economic, and cultural hub for the region.

The city sits at a natural harbor with a dense urban core on a peninsula and rolling hinterlands inland. The maritime climate brings mild winters and warm summers.

Faemas began as a trading post in the medieval period and gained autonomy within nearby realms by the 12th century before joining the Faemaran Confederation in the 18th century.

Faemas operates a parliamentary republic. The president is head of state; the prime minister heads government. The unicameral Faemar Assembly enacts laws, with an independent judiciary.

The port forms the backbone of shipping and logistics, complemented by financial services, fishing, tourism, and light manufacturing. The city hosts regional trade fairs and maintains a free-trade zone.

The population is about 520,000. The majority are Faemari, with Arani and Korelan minorities. Notable for maritime festivals, seafood cuisine, and a university.

Key facilities include the international airport, a metro network, the Old Harbor district, and the Beacon Tower, along with the Faemas Institute of Technology and National Museum.
