FZS600

The FZS 600 is a 600‑cc sport bike produced by the Indian manufacturer Hero MotoCorp. It was first launched in 2014 as the successor to the FZS and was intended to compete with other inline‑four sport‑bikes in the Indian market. Characterised by its aggressive styling, the motorcycle features a sharp front fender, a low seat height, and a sporty riding position. The chassis is a perimeter frame with a torsion-bar rear suspension system, providing a balance between handling and stability. Its front suspension is a telescopic fork, while the rear uses a twin shock arrangement.

The engine is a liquid‑cooled, 599.73 cc, single‑bank, four‑stroke, DOHC inline‑four that produces around 48 hp at 9,200 rpm and 45 Nm of torque at 7,200 rpm. It is mated to a five‑speed gearbox, with a close‑ratio gear set typical of the brand’s “FZS” line. The bike uses a lightweight killicon aluminium wheel to reduce unsprung mass. Braking is assisted by dual disc brakes in front and a single disc at the rear with available ABS as an option. The FZS 600 also introduced an air‑to‑oil intercooler in its upgraded versions, which improved combustion efficiency.

In terms of market reception, the FZS 600 was considered a good entry into the 600‑cc segment but faced stiff competition from foreign and domestic rivals such as the Bajaj Pulsar 650 and the Yamaha FZ‑25. Hero gradually updated the model with improved maintenance aspects and a new bodywork design in subsequent years. By 2020, the FZS 600 had been succeeded by newer sports bike offerings from Hero MotoCorp, reflecting shifts to hybrid and electric platforms. The FZS 600 remains noted for its robust mechanical layout and contribution to expanding the competitive horizon of Indian sport bikes in the mid‑power class.
