FXaHemmer
FXaHemmer is a term used to describe inhibitors of Factor Xa, a serine protease in the coagulation cascade that converts prothrombin to thrombin. By blocking Factor Xa, FXaHemmer reduce thrombin generation and fibrin formation, producing anticoagulant effects that help prevent abnormal blood clotting.
Most clinically used FXaHemmer are direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) such as rivaroxaban, apixaban, edoxaban, and betrixaban.
