FTPalapú

FTPalapú is an open-source software framework designed to automate, secure, and scale file transfer workflows across local networks and cloud environments. It provides a cohesive interface for moving files using FTP, FTPS, and SFTP, and exposes APIs to integrate transfers into automation pipelines, data pipelines, and backup systems. The project emphasizes reliability, auditability, and extensibility through a modular architecture.

A core component handles transfer orchestration, while protocol adapters manage the specifics of each transport, and storage adapters enable operations against diverse targets such as local disks, network shares, and cloud storage. FTPalapú originated in 2016 through an international collaboration of developers and researchers. The first stable release, v1.0, appeared in 2018, followed by major updates in 2020 and 2022–2024. Governance is managed by the FTLabs Foundation, which fosters open governance, community contributions, and standardized security practices.

Users include small and medium enterprises, universities, and cloud-based data platforms. The project is valued for automation capabilities and cross-platform support, while its configuration can be challenging for beginners.
