FNstadgan

FNstadgan is a municipality in the coastal region of the fictional country of Nordmark. It sits along the northern shore of the Nord Sea and serves as a local administrative center for the surrounding rural municipality.

The municipality covers 42 square kilometers; its terrain includes a shallow harbor, a forested inland ridge, and the Jarn River valley. The climate is temperate and maritime, with cool summers and relatively mild winters.

Founded in the 12th century as a fishing village, FNstadgan grew in the 18th century with timber trade and shipbuilding. A railway reached the municipality in 1904, spurring population growth. In the 1970s municipal reorganization integrated nearby settlements.

FNstadgan is governed by a 15-member municipal council elected for four-year terms; the executive mayor chairs the council. As of 2023, the resident population was about 7,500, with a majority of residents identifying as Nordmarkan.

The local economy centers on commercial fishing, forestry, and light manufacturing, with services and tourism playing growing roles. Cultural life centers on a harbor district and a riverside park, hosting an annual seaside festival and markets.

FNstadgan is connected by a regional road network and a freight rail line. The nearest international airport is in the regional capital, about 80 km away. The harbor handles ferry and cargo traffic.
