Evaporiteassociated is a geologic term describing processes, settings, or ore deposits that are closely linked to evaporite-bearing sedimentary sequences. Evaporites are minerals formed by the evaporation of seawater or highly saline lake waters, with common constituents including halite (rock salt), gypsum and anhydrite (calcium sulfates), and potassium-rich salts such as sylvite and carnallite, as well as borates in some basins. The phrase emphasizes a genetic or spatial relationship between mineralization and evaporite deposits.

Geologic setting and formation typical of evaporite-associated systems involve arid to semi-arid basins where high evaporation rates lead to cyclic or layered evaporite sequences. Interacting brines, diagenetic processes, and in some cases hydrothermal fluids can transport and concentrate metals within or adjacent to evaporite beds. This can result in mineralization that is temporally and spatially connected to the evaporite sequence, including economic salt, potash, and borate deposits, as well as associated sulfate or sulfide minerals in certain districts.

Economic significance and deposit types commonly linked to evaporites include potash (potassium chloride and related salts) and borates, which form in brine-evaporite environments. Halite and other evaporite minerals are also economically important in their own right in many basins. In some regions, evaporite-associated mineralization can extend to metal-bearing deposits through brine circulation and diagenetic processes, though the primary commercial products are typically evaporite-derived salts and minerals.
