It serves to identify and distinguish that batch from others in manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. In practice, eränumeron is used across industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, chemicals, and consumer electronics. A typical eränumero encodes information about the batch, such as production date, manufacturing site or line, and a sequential or random identifier.
