Erotäydennykset

Erotäydennykset, often translated as "divorce supplements" or "separation payments," is a Finnish legal term referring to financial arrangements made during or after a marriage separation or divorce. These payments are distinct from child support, which is specifically for the maintenance of children. Erotäydennykset are intended to address the financial consequences of the separation for one spouse, particularly if there's a significant disparity in earning capacity or if one spouse contributed more to the family's financial well-being during the marriage, often through childcare or household management.
