EpiLASIK
EpiLASIK is an advanced form of laser eye surgery. It is a variation of LASIK that modifies the way the corneal flap is created. In traditional LASIK, a thin flap is precisely cut from the cornea's outer layer, the epithelium, and the Bowman's layer. In EpiLASIK, a specialized device is used to separate the epithelium from the underlying corneal layers. This epithelial sheet is then folded back, rather than being cut with a microkeratome or femtosecond laser.
The excimer laser is then used to reshape the cornea, correcting refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness),
EpiLASIK is often considered a good option for individuals who may not be ideal candidates for traditional
