Ensenada

Ensenada is a coastal city in the Mexican state of Baja California and the municipal seat of Ensenada Municipality. It lies on the Pacific coast of the Baja California peninsula in the northern part of the state, serving as a major port and gateway to the surrounding region.

The Port of Ensenada supports fishing and commercial activity and underpins a growing tourism sector along the coast. The nearby Valle de Guadalupe to the east is a renowned wine region, contributing significantly to the local economy through viticulture, winemaking, and related culinary tourism.

Historically, the area was inhabited by the Kumeyaay people before European contact. It was later explored by Spaniards in the 16th century, with the harbor developing further through the 19th and 20th centuries as transportation and trade links expanded along the peninsula.
