Enginedriven
Enginedriven, or engine-driven, is a term used to describe equipment or systems that are powered by an internal combustion engine or other prime mover rather than by electricity from a utility grid or by manual input. The designation is common for portable or mobile machinery, such as engine-driven pumps, generators, compressors, welders, and saws. These devices typically integrate an internal combustion engine connected to the output through a shaft, belt drive, or hydraulic system, delivering mechanical power to the workload. Power is usually rated in horsepower or kilowatts and specified with matching torque and operating speed.
Engine-driven equipment is favored in remote locations, on construction sites, in agriculture, and for emergency backup
Historically, engine-driven machinery gained prominence with the rise of internal combustion engines in the 20th century
