Energiaverkko is a Finnish term that translates to “energy network” and is used to describe the networks that transport energy from producers to end users. The term covers a range of infrastructure, including electricity transmission and distribution grids, district heating and cooling networks, gas pipelines, and, in newer contexts, networks for hydrogen, biogas, and other energy carriers. It also encompasses the associated information and control systems, such as metering, telemetry, protection, and grid-management software that coordinate supply and demand.
