Emphasizingemphatic is a coinage used to describe the interaction of emphasis strategies in language and discourse. It is not established as a formal term in standard grammars, but it appears in discussions about how speakers amplify a point through multiple channels of emphasis.

In linguistic terms, emphasis can operate at several levels. Emphatic phonology refers to features that make sounds more forceful in some languages, such as pharyngealized or geminated consonants. In many languages and in English, emphasis is achieved through prosody—altered pitch, duration, and loudness.
