Eidi
Eidi is a cultural practice in many Muslim communities in South Asia and among their descendants, in which elders give a gift to children during the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha celebrations. The gift is most commonly money, but can also be toys, sweets, clothes, or other presents. The term eidi comes from Urdu عیدی (and ultimately from Arabic eid, festival), and it denotes a ceremonial gift associated with Eid.
