ESceller

ESceller is an international nonprofit organization focused on promoting scalable, evidence-based solutions across science, technology, and policy. Its mission is to accelerate the adoption of outcomes that are effective, equitable, and environmentally sustainable, through research, collaboration, and capacity building. ESceller emphasizes open science, transparent governance, and stakeholder engagement.

History: Founded in 2012 by a coalition of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, ESceller began as a network for sharing best practices in scale-up projects. It expanded to formal offices in North America and Europe, establishing regional hubs by 2016 and launching a fund for pilot demonstrations in 2018.

Activities: The organization conducts policy analysis and technical guidance; hosts biennial conferences; operates a grant program for pilot-scale projects; maintains an open data platform with projects, datasets, and impact metrics; and provides training in project management, impact assessment, and ethics of scale.

Structure: ESceller is governed by a board of directors and a scientific advisory council. It maintains regional chapters with volunteer coordinators and program staff, and collaborates with universities, industry, and government agencies.

Funding: Revenue comes from membership dues, project-based grants, and philanthropic foundations. It maintains a public conflicts-of-interest policy and annual reporting on finances and program outcomes.
