EFQMmudel

The EFQM Model is a management framework developed by the European Foundation for Quality Management. It provides a holistic approach to organizational excellence, helping organizations to understand their strengths and areas for development in order to achieve sustainable success. The model is not a prescriptive standard but rather a flexible tool that can be adapted to the specific needs and context of any organization, regardless of size or sector.

At its core, the EFQM Model is based on nine fundamental criteria, categorized into two main groups: Enablers and Results. The Enablers group consists of Leadership, Strategy, People, Partnerships & Resources, and Processes, Products & Services. These criteria focus on how an organization operates and manages its resources. The Results group comprises People & Customer Related Results, Society Related Results, and Business Performance Results. These criteria focus on what the organization achieves.

The model employs a RADAR logic (Results, Approach, Deployment, Assessment & Refinement) to assess an organization's performance. This logic guides users in understanding how well their approaches are deployed, how effective they are, and how they are continuously improved. The EFQM Model is designed to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning, encouraging organizations to move beyond simply meeting requirements to striving for excellence in all aspects of their operations. It is widely used by organizations across Europe and beyond as a tool for self-assessment, strategic planning, and driving performance improvement.
