Dørklokker

A dørklokke, commonly known as a doorbell, is a signaling device installed near the entrance of a building to alert the occupants of a visitor's arrival. The term "dørklokke" originates from Danish and Norwegian, translating to "door bell." Historically, doorbells were simple mechanical devices, often a bell rung by pulling a cord or pushing a lever from outside.

Modern dørklokker typically employ electrical mechanisms. The most common type is a push-button system. When the button is pressed, it completes an electrical circuit, activating a chime or buzzer located inside the house. These chimes can produce a variety of sounds, from a traditional two-note melody to more complex digital tunes.

These devices integrate a camera, microphone, and speaker, allowing homeowners to see, hear, and speak to visitors remotely via a smartphone or other internet-connected device. Some video doorbells also offer motion detection and recording capabilities, enhancing security.
