Dursleys
The Dursleys are a family in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. They are the primary antagonists in the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The family consists of Vernon Dursley, his wife Petunia, and their son Dudley. They live in a small, cramped house in Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey. The Dursleys are known for their lack of imagination, greed, and cruelty towards others, particularly Harry Potter, who is their distant cousin. Vernon Dursley works as a director at Grunnings, a drills factory, and is often seen wearing a suit and tie, while Petunia is a homemaker who is known for her snobbishness and dislike of anything magical. Dudley is a bully and a spoiled child who is often seen with his friends, the Piers and the Weasleys. The Dursleys' treatment of Harry is a major plot point in the series, as they attempt to keep his magical heritage a secret from him. Despite their initial cruelty, the Dursleys' actions ultimately lead to Harry's discovery of his magical abilities and his eventual escape from their home.
