Dubstyle

Dubstyle is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 2010s, characterized by its fusion of dubstep and hardstyle elements. It is known for its heavy, distorted basslines, fast tempos, and aggressive synth melodies, often incorporating elements of Dutch hardstyle. The genre typically features a tempo range of 140 to 150 BPM.

The sound of dubstyle often includes the signature "wobble" bass of dubstep, but at a higher tempo and with a more driving, percussive rhythm. Hardstyle influences are evident in the use of distorted kick drums, soaring synth leads, and often a more melodic, epic feel compared to traditional dubstep. Vocals, if present, can range from aggressive shouts to more melodic female vocals.

While not as widely recognized as its parent genres, dubstyle has cultivated a dedicated following, particularly within certain European dance music scenes. Artists associated with the genre often experiment with blending different subgenres of electronic music, pushing the boundaries of what is typically found in dubstep and hardstyle. The production techniques employed in dubstyle focus on creating a powerful, high-energy sound suitable for club environments and festivals.
