Dimorphiants are a hypothetical class of organisms that exhibit extreme phenotypic plasticity, meaning their physical form can change dramatically in response to environmental cues. The concept of dimorphiants is primarily found in speculative fiction and theoretical biology, exploring the potential evolutionary advantages of such rapid and profound morphological adaptation. Unlike gradual evolutionary changes driven by natural selection over generations, dimorphiants would theoretically be able to alter their body plans, organ systems, and even genetic makeup within their own lifespan.

The mechanisms by which dimorphiants might achieve such transformations are purely speculative.
