Diktaattorihallinto refers to a form of government characterized by absolute rule by a single leader or a small group of individuals, often referred to as a dictator. In such regimes, political power is concentrated and not subject to the will of the people through democratic processes. Opposition is typically suppressed, and fundamental freedoms such as freedom of speech, assembly, and the press are severely restricted or nonexistent. The rule of law is often subordinate to the will of the dictator, and the judiciary may not be independent.
Dictatorial regimes can arise through various means, including military coups, revolutionary takeovers, or the subversion of
