Deelectrolyting

Deelectrolyting is a term that refers to the process of removing electrolytes from a solution. Electrolytes are substances that produce an electrically conductive solution when dissolved in a polar solvent, such as water. This conductivity arises from the presence of mobile ions. Therefore, deelectrolyting essentially aims to reduce or eliminate the concentration of these ions.

This process can be achieved through various methods. One common technique is electrodialysis, where an electric field is applied across membranes that selectively allow ions to pass through, thus separating them from the bulk solution.
