DINskena is a fictional technical standard proposed in speculative design and academic discussions to describe the interoperability of dynamic information environments. The term is used in thought experiments to examine how modular components can interact within a shared runtime, coordinating data, control signals, and presentation in real time. It is not an official standard and has no formal governance or certification.

Its hypothetical data model centers on modular units, interfaces, and connections. Each unit has a unique identifier, a type descriptor, and a current state. Interfaces declare capabilities such as read, write, event generation, or control signaling, and specify data formats and timing constraints. Connections bind compatible interfaces and define data flows, ordering, and error handling.

DINskena emphasizes dynamic behavior. Units can transition through states such as inactive, active, or paused and reorganize within a scene-graph-like structure. Transitions may trigger events that propagate through the network, enabling responsive layouts, simulations, or interactive applications. The standard's guidelines address determinism, concurrency, and interoperability among heterogeneous components.

Usage in fiction, education, and research allows practitioners to discuss modular design principles, scalability, and cross-domain interoperability without committing to a real-world specification. Critics note that, as a fictional construct, it lacks testing, a governance body, and real-world adoption.
