Cruiserbanden

Cruiserbanden are tires designed for cruiser bicycles, a style of bicycle built for comfort and a relaxed riding position. They are typically wider than road tires and have a taller profile to absorb bumps. They are used on urban, leisure, and coastal rides, often with fenders and racks.

Common wheel sizes for cruisers are 26 inches and 28 inches, with tire widths from about 1.75 inches up to 3 inches. The larger widths and lower pressures provide a cushioned ride but can increase rolling resistance and reduce handling precision on smooth pavement.

Construction and design: They are commonly clincher tires with inner tubes, although tubeless options exist. Many models include puncture protection belts and reflective sidewalls or sidewall lettering for visibility; some feature white or tan walls for vintage styling.

Maintenance and use: Inflate to the recommended pressure given on the tire sidewall, typically in the range of 30 to 60 psi depending on tire and rider weight. Regularly inspect for cuts, bulges, or worn tread and replace tires when needed.
