CpGeilanden

CpGeilanden is a fictional archipelago commonly used in geospatial exercises and world-building. Located in a warm tropical belt in the imaginary sea west of the continent of Aurelia, the chain spans roughly 150 kilometers in a gentle arc and comprises about a dozen islands of varying size. The larger islands rise up to about 600 meters, while numerous islets surround sheltered lagoons formed by coral reefs. The climate is tropical, with a pronounced wet season and abundant biodiversity in mangrove belts and forest interiors.

Geology and ecology are central to the portrayal of CpGeilanden. The islands are described as volcanic in origin, with fertile soils on the larger landmasses and fringing reefs that host rich marine life. Endemic birds and reptiles populate the inland forests, and the surrounding reefs support coral communities and sea turtles, creating important habitats for both terrestrial and marine species.

History and governance are framed within a fictional chronology. CpGeilanden is said to have been visited by various seafaring powers and eventually formed a loose federation within the Atlantic alliance of Aurelia. Today it operates as a small self-governing entity with a resident population of about 12,000. Local governance uses island councils and a central assembly to coordinate policy, especially regarding fisheries and environmental protection.

Economy and culture focus on sustainable practices. The economy centers on fishing, small-scale farming, and ecotourism, supported by an inter-island ferry network and a single airstrip on the largest island. The official language is CpGeilan, a Dutch-Malay-influenced creole, with English widely used in commerce.
