Cliniciansdentists is not a standard professional designation in most health systems. Education and licensure: Practitioners typically hold a dental degree such as Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited program. Roles and settings: General dentists provide routine preventive and restorative care and coordinate comprehensive treatment plans. Clinicians-dentists work in private or group practices, community health centers, hospitals, or academic settings, often supervising dental hygienists and assistants and referring complex cases to specialists when needed.

Interdisciplinary care and technology: They collaborate with medical clinicians to address systemic health considerations and utilize technologies such as digital imaging, intraoral scanners, CAD/CAM restorations, and advanced anesthesia and infection-control techniques to enhance safety and outcomes.

Ethics and global context: Ethical patient care, informed consent, privacy, and evidence-based practice are central.
