Key domains include extreme weather events such as heatwaves, heavy rainfall, droughts, and floods; sea-level rise and coastal erosion; and shifts in temperature and precipitation. Ecosystems may experience species range shifts and altered phenology, while agriculture, fisheries, and food security face yields, pests, and harvest timing changes. Health effects include heat-related illness and evolving disease patterns. Economic impacts involve damages to infrastructure, productivity losses, and increased costs for adaptation and insurance.

Assessment methods rely on climate models, risk analyses, and historical data to project impacts and their uncertainties. Common indicators include temperature and precipitation trends, extreme-event frequency, sea-level rise, and economic damages. Impacts are uneven across regions and communities, reflecting differences in exposure, vulnerability, and adaptive capacity.
