Chondroblastis is a rare, benign cartilaginous tumor that typically arises in the bones of the hands and feet. It is characterized by the presence of chondroblasts, which are immature cartilage-forming cells. These tumors are often slow-growing and asymptomatic, but can occasionally cause pain, swelling, or limited joint motion. Radiographically, chondroblastis appears as a well-circumscribed lesion with a speckled or mottled calcification pattern. Histologically, the tumor is composed of lobules of chondrocytes within a cartilaginous matrix. The cells are generally small and uniform, with scant cytoplasm and round to oval nuclei. Mitotic activity is typically low.
The exact cause of chondroblastis is unknown, but it is thought to be related to a genetic
