Chequeasteis

Chequeasteis is the second-person plural preterite form of the Spanish verb chequear, meaning "you all checked." It is used with the vosotros form, which is typical of Spain and some other regions that maintain the informal plural second person. The preterite indicates a completed action in the past, often within a narrative or a specific past moment.

Chequear is a regular -ar verb, so its standard preterite forms are: yo chequeé, tú chequeaste, él/ella/usted chequeó, nosotros chequeamos, vosotros chequeasteis, ellos/ellas/ustedes chequearon. The accent in the yo form (chequé) helps preserve the pronunciation, while the vosotros form carries the stress on the ending "eis."

Regional variation is notable. In most Latin American varieties, the vosotros forms are not used; speakers instead employ ustedes and the corresponding preterite forms, such as ustedes chequearon. Some speakers also favor the related verb checar, whose second-person plural preterite is checasteis in regions that still use vosotros, or ustedes checaron when using the ustedes form.

Chequear derives from the noun cheque (check) and has the general sense of examining, verifying, or confirming something by checking. In practice, chequeasteis commonly appears in contexts such as data verification, inventory checks, or reviewing information, e.g., Ayer chequeasteis la lista y todo estaba correcto.
