CheonanAsan

Cheonan–Asan refers to the urbanized area formed by the cities of Cheonan and Asan in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. The two cities lie in central western Korea and are closely linked economically and logistically, forming one of the region’s major population and employment centers. Although not an official administrative unit, the Cheonan–Asan designation is commonly used to describe the contiguous urban area and its surrounding districts.

The area benefits from a developed transportation network that connects it with Seoul and other parts of the country. Cheonan–Asan Station and the rail corridor on the Gyeongbu Line provide passenger and freight service, while national highways and expressways support regional commerce and logistics. Onyang Hot Springs, in Asan, is a notable historic spa district that attracts visitors from across the country. Population in the Cheonan–Asan area numbers in the hundreds of thousands, making it one of the more populous urban clusters in Chungcheongnam-do. The area continues to grow through urban development, infrastructure projects, and regional integration within South Korea.
