Chachani
Chachani is a stratovolcano located in the Andes mountain range in Peru, approximately 50 kilometers north of the city of Arequipa. It is part of the Western Cordillera and is one of the highest volcanoes in Peru, with its summit reaching an elevation of around 6,075 meters (19,931 feet). The volcano is dormant, with its last confirmed eruption occurring in the mid-20th century. However, it is known for its geothermal activity, including fumaroles and hot springs, which are present in its caldera.
The slopes of Chachani are characterized by volcanic scree and sparse vegetation, typical of high-altitude environments.
