Cerveris
Cerveris is a genus of birds belonging to the family Furnariidae, commonly known as ovenbirds. The genus currently contains four species, all of which are found in South America. Cerveris species are typically found in arid or semi-arid regions, inhabiting thorny scrublands, woodlands, and savanna habitats. They are generally small to medium-sized birds with relatively long tails and short, stout bills. Their plumage often consists of cryptic brown, gray, and rufous colors, providing camouflage within their environment.
The most well-known species is the Rufous-tailed Xenops (Cerveris rubiginosus), which has a distinctive rufous tail.
Their nesting behavior varies, with some species building elaborate mud nests, while others utilize tree cavities
